i was very excited to recieve a haiku-zine from fellow artist, rama hughes, today. his haikus are wonderful, the same goes for his drawings. to show my appreciation, i'm going to post some of my favorite haikus of his. there are many many more on his website: ramahughes.com check it out.
thank you rama!

"morning already-
the fading impression of
your ear on my arm."

"hang up your cape this
weekend, even supergirl
has kryptonite days."

"outside, while peeing,
i look at the stars and think,
martians, please don't look."

"a quiet bedroom,
your narrow bed, the center
of the universe."

flamenco dancer

kitchen bugs scattered,
fearful of the clacking made
by ruby red shoes.

as a treat for our friend Pablo's 21'st birthday, Noellia from Spain danced the flamenco. she was fantastic. i'd love to learn some of her moves.

pinch of cinnamon, handful

IRN BRU

a scots' favorite drink
is the same color as a
crossing guard's orange vest.

this soda drink is scotland's most popular. however, because of the color dyes they use, it can't be made in the states. if it were, they would have to inspect each can individually to make sure it was safe. but then again, they also eat sheep intestines here so what's a little food coloring going to do, right?

ticket to ride

these sore legs caught a
break today thanks to the kind
heart of a stranger.

walking down princes street a woman stopped me and asked if i wanted her all day bus pass because she didn't need it anymore. i wonder if it was that obvious how sick i was of walking? anyways, i took it with the most grateful feet and legs. i don't think that woman knows how much better my day was because of her. the goal for tomorrow: pass on the random act of kindness.

carrot and corriander

over the edge soup
splashed on a naked wrist
now clothed in white gauze.

i didn't know if i should put this picture up or not, but it's the best way for me to show the pain i was in. i apologize for all the cringing it will cause. personally, it reminds me of a frog's throat when it puffs up. by the looks of it you would've thought i screamed or at least dropped the bowl. ironically, i reacted by calmly setting it down (really i just didn't want to break it and have to buy another one!) then i ran it under cold water for a bit. i think any soup that can get as hot as this one should be banned, i swear it comes from the devil. that's my only explanation. everyone please be extra careful with anything hot today. (no, no, you don't have to be extra careful with me...i was referring to food in paticular).
